Tiny Travelers: A Book About Seed Dispersal (and other cool things about plants)

Product Details

Nearly 90% of the world's plants are angiosperms, reproducing through seeds. Each seed is a tiny wonder, containing a plant embryo, nutrients, and a protective coat. In order to germinate and grow, a seed must end up in a new place - away from its parent plant - where it will have access to the sunlight, water, and nutrients it needs. How do seeds get to those places? It is called "seed dispersal." This book highlights fifteen flowering plants (angiosperms) and their methods of seed dispersal. Book includes a botanical glossary and lesson ideas for further discovery. Suitable for grades 3 and 4. Dimensions: 8 in. x 10 in. 51 pages.
